Arvalem caves in Bicholim, North Goa

This free for all ancient caves in Bicholim (Dicholi), North Goa also known as the Pandava caves after the characters in the epic Mahabharata is a must visit place for soulful traveler. According to legend, the five Pandava brothers lived in the caves while they were in exile from their kingdom. However, several alternative theories about the history of the caves has persisted, some citing Buddhist origins and others Hindu. But the rock-cut caves are beautiful and intriguing, especially given the backdrop of Arvalem waterfalls in the vicinity, which is a short hike away.

No airways service is supported in this area whereas, travelers can enjoy the swifty gust of winds in the Indian railways.

Dabolim Railway Station is the nearest railway station, located 40 km away from Sanquelim.
