Are you aware about, ‘No cost travelling’ ?

So, i recently asked my friend, name one thing that holds you back from travelling and what he replied is what i hear from everyone i talk to: “Ash, I don’t have enough money.”

I personally think, you do not need to be rich to travel.

Lets repeat that.

You do not need to be Rich to travel cheap.

You need to make travel a priority, if travel is not your priority you will always find other things to spend your money on. People save money, they have agenda behind saving, atleast some do.

The question is, what is your reason behind saving? why do you need savings when you have money that you are just keeping for future. Make this concept clear and you will realize what you are saving for, if it’s for travel. Congratulations, my friend, you are a soulful traveller, who despite of everthing , just loves to travel.

Let’s go through some facts i learned from my interaction with fellow travellers.

Why not work overseas, because there are always opportunities unless you are picky. There are various jobs you can start through, just to make some decent money. Remember, you are not making a carrer out of it, but instead just earning money for travel. Here are some jobs you can get to pay bills and fund your travel.

*Au pair

*Hostel worker

*Waiter/ Waitress

*Tour guide

*Casino worker

*Yacht worker
Working overseas often gets discounted as an option because it seems hard to do. It’s not. Just be open. These jobs don’t require advanced degrees or a lot of work experience either.

– If you are good and have a excellent command in English language. You can easily be a teacher and teach English overseas as English is among the most famous language these days yet not enough people have proper command over the language.

All airlines have special offers with all the big stores: Amazon, Apple, Best Buy, Target, etc. Shopping at those preferred stores will earn you 5–6 kms per 100 Rs spent, sometimes even more. If you spend Rs 8,000 a month, you can earn up to 1500 kms just by going through their websites. The products don’t cost extra. Many travellers do all their shopping through the airline malls simply for the extra kms.

There are many services that connect travelers with locals who are willing to let them stay with them for FREE. Sometimes you will get a mattres to sleep, sometimes a couch, sometimes a room but it’s always free.

You can find cheaper accommodation, quirky tour guides, rideshare options, and home-cooked meals with local people. You can bypass the traditional travel industry with sharing economy websites and gain access to locals using their own assets and skills to become small tourism companies with cheaper prices. Moreover, locals know where to find deals. They know which supermarket is cheapest, which stores offer the best sales, and where to find the hole-in-the-wall restaurants and bars with the tastiest food at the lowest prices. Talking directly to them gives you access to that knowledge. Blabla Car is famous for ridesharing.

Can’t afford your vacation? Watch someone’s house while they go on theirs. Doesn’t sounds real. Well accept it, because it’s very common in some countries and they even have few websites where you can be their annual member and provide your house sit services to people who want it. After quite a research, i found these websites in their respective countries:

* (60$ annual fee) UK, Australia, North America.

* (20$ annual fee) New Zealand, North America.

* (55$ annual fee) North America, Europe.

* (30$ annual fee) South America

The best way to save money on the road is to cook all your own meals. If you are Couchsurfing, your host will probably have a kitchen, as do many hostels, campsites, and guesthouses. No kitchen? Pack your own container and silverware and make some sandwiches and salads on the go. Not every meal requires a stove right?
Just because you are traveling, it doesn’t mean you need to eat out every meal. You won’t ruin your trip to Paris if you decide not to eat out one day! There’s simply no reason to be spending lots of money on food on your trip!

The key is to get out of the mindset that you must travel using the flight/hotel combination. Using out-of-the-box non-traditional ways to travel can lead to bid savings.
And that turns travel from a dream into a reality.
